Course Overview
Build confidence using music notation software to create clear, professional music scores in a teaching context. This course focuses on translating your existing notation knowledge into digital formats, exploring how different platforms can support composing, arranging, and classroom activities. You’ll work with common notation tools, apply conventions across styles, and refine your work through feedback and revision. Along the way, you’ll develop practical approaches to selecting and using notation software effectively in your music program.

How You’ll Learn
- Interactive lessons, video based resources

Assessment Tasks
- Create notated scores for at least two different sections of music, demonstrating:
- Accurate use of standard notation conventions
- Clear structure and layout appropriate to the style
- Review and refine your work based on feedback and self evaluation
- Complete project documentation as required
- Complete quizzes to demonstrate your understanding
Duration
Depending on your level of existing skills and knowledge, we recommend that you allow 20 – 25 hours to complete this course. The course must be completed within 4 months of the enrolment date.
By the end of this course
