If you were formerly an academic user of Sibelius when you purchased your existing licence, but no longer meet the eligibility verification requirements, you will need to purchase one of the standard, non-academic ‘UPDATE & SUPPORT PLAN’ packages instead.
Redeeming your Download Code
When you purchase the New Sibelius upgrade, you are not provided with an upgrade license directly. First, you will receive a ‘Redemption Code‘ via email from Music EDnet and you will need to use this code to access the download for your software.
Go to https://my.avid.com
If you already have an Avid account then log in, if not, create a new account.
Once you have logged into your Avid account you should arrive at the ‘My Account’ page. If not, click on your email address (circled in green below) to get there. Then click on ‘Avid Software Activation and Download‘ (circled in red below).
This will take you to the ‘Activate Product‘ page shown below.
The redemption code received via email from Music EDnet should be in the following format and you should copy and paste it into the field on the above mentioned page:

Once the code is entered and you’ve clicked the ‘activate‘ button or hit ‘enter‘ on your keyboard, it will take you to the ‘My Products and Subscriptions’ page of your Avid account and the result will look like this or very similar:
Note that a new code starting with ‘EDU‘ has been deposited in the account.
You now need take this newly provided ‘EDU‘ code to the ‘identit-E’ website, which is the 3rd party company that handles Education Eligibility Verification checking for Avid. The link below will redirect you to identit-E so you can complete the academic verification process:
Once this is completed (it usually takes a working day or two for identit-E to process and notify you of your approval), you’ll be sent a final verification/download code from identit-E that you can use in your Avid account to complete the process. The email from identit-E will provide the appropriate link for this final step.
